dry scalp

I have a 2 year old tri-racial girl (black, white, hispanic). I wash her hair every 8-10 days and put natural detangler in it twice daily. Her scalp tends to get flaky and irritated every couple of weeks. What's wrong? I use products with the ingredients coconut oil, almond oil, soy oil, cocoa butter, I use Carol's Daughter Hair Milk which is primarily almond oil. I have a few items in my basket from TL, but want to ask advice before placing my order.
